Bulk Order Tyvek Coveralls: 800.322.6822 About Tyvek Coveralls: Tyvek Coveralls from DuPont are made from a miracle of science from DuPont. DuPont discovered Tyvek on a chance occurrence by a DuPont researcher, Jim White, who in 1955 noticed white polyethylene fluff coming out of a pipe in a DuPont experimental lab. A program to develop Tyvek was set up, and a year later DuPont submitted a patent proposal for a new, strong yarn, called: linear polyethylene and Tyvek was born. Tyvek coveralls are made using a proprietary flash-spinning technology, which took several more years to perfect. In 1959, a pilot Tyvek facility was established for trial applications such as Tyvek book covers, Tyvek tags, Tyvek labels and certain Tyvek garments, including: Tyvek Coveralls. In 1965, the new engineered sheet structure was registered under the trademark name Tyvek, but it was not until April 1967 that commercial production of Tyvek coveralls first began.
DuPont and Tyvek are trademarks or registered
trademarks of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company or its affiliates. DuPont
Tyvek suits and disposable Tyvek coveralls offer high strength and provide an
excellent barrier in light splash situations as well as many dry particulates,
including asbestos, lead dust, and even radioactive dusts. Tests show that
DuPont Tyvek coveralls maintain a level of barrier and clothing protection after
being subjected to abrasion and flexing. Tyvek coveralls are a brand of protective clothing and disposable safety garments that are consist of spun bonded olefin, a synthetic material made of high-density polyethylene fibers; Tyvek coveralls and Tyvek suits are a name that is a registered trademark of the DuPont Company. The material of which Tyvek coveralls and Tyvek suits are made is very strong; it is nearly impossible for the average person to tear but can easily be cut with scissors or any other sharp object. Tyvek coveralls and Tyvek suits will allow only water vapor to pass through. Tyvek coveralls are one-piece jumpsuits made of Tyvek, and these Tyvek suits are usually white in color. They coveralls and Tyvek suits are often worn by mechanics over their clothes to avoid contact with oil and fuel. Tyvek coveralls can also be worn for painting to protect skin and clothes from splattered paint, for installation of fiberglass insulation, and by workers in laboratories and clean rooms, environmental test chambers and any other use where disposable Tyvek coveralls, or one-time use disposable Tyvek suits are needed. Tyvek coveralls are also used for some light hazardous materials applications but do not provide the level of protection of a full hazmat Tyvek suit. Tychem is a brand of Tyvek rated for a higher level of protection. DuPont Tyvek clothing is also available in different styles and includes Tyvek lab coats and Tyvek apron to complete head-to-toe Tyvek coveralls with hoods and booties. DuPont Tyvek coveralls and Tyvek disposable clothing, Tyvek coveralls, Tyvek lab coats, Tyvek suits and other Tyvek disposable garments can be recycled. Sentry participates in the national recycling program for Tyvek coveralls, Tyvek suits and disposable Tyvek coveralls run by the Garment Recovery Systems. Discover Peak Positions. DuPont Tyvek Coveralls are manufactured in Richmond, Virginia and Luxembourg. Tyvek
coveralls use a protective clothing material that is formed by a fully
integrated process using continuous and very fine fibers of 100 percent
high-density polyethylene that are randomly distributed and nondirectional.
Our Tyvek polyethylene coveralls fibers that is first flash spun, then laid
in as a web on a moving bed before being bonded together by heat and
pressure - without the use of binders, sizers or fillers. By varying both
the lay-down speed and the bonding conditions, DuPont technicians can
engineer the flash spun sheet to meet market needs, such as soft- and
hard-structure Tyvek coveralls. |
